Penza, 19 December 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region government, together with relevant institutions and services, must develop a set of measures to stabilize road situation in the region, instructed the governor Ivan Belozertsev during the regular meeting session in the regional government held on Saturday, December 19.
“The road upkeep issue is a matter that needs great attention. During the icy periods, they must be covered with sand and salt mix to avert accidents. And we should do everything to not let people go dying on roads,” stressed the head of the region.
In addition, he ordered the vice-governor Valery Savin to investigate the potential to place automatic spotter cameras on roads, including the M5 “Ural” federal highway.
“There are companies ready to join the project, set up the cameras without taking money out of the budget,” said the head of the region, placing the emphasis on developing state-private partnership in the current situation.
During the discussion over the issue, the head of the regional Construction Ministry Alexander Grishaev reported that a total of 492 km of roads underwent reconstruction, capital or minor repairs within the regular plan.
The Presidential decree and all programs in this regard, including the plan to increase social development of villages, have been fulfilled, he pointed out.
