Penza, 23 December 2015. PenzaNews. The news agency PenzaNews remains the most cited Penza region media and the leader in the local news field, says data provided by Yandex.

According to the most recent update of the regional media websites citation rating on 22 December 2015, the citation index of PenzaNews agency is 1,500 points.

The website “PenzaInform” which is not an officially registered media currently holds 400 TIC points less.

It is followed by the online news resource “Penza-Press,” part of the “Express” media holding, with 1,100 points as well.

However, contrary to the November results, Yandex placed “PenzaInform” on the second place, pushing “Penza-Press” down to the third position.

Thematic Citation Index (TIC) – is a technology employed by Yandex to determine the credibility of Internet resources in a quantitative output, based on the quality of links from other websites rather than quality.

TIC is calculated using a proprietary algorithm that takes into account thematic content of the resource and the linking sites.
