Penza, 30 December 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza city administration head Victor Kuvaytsev has presented 12 talented school children prizes of 5,000 rubles, in an official event held in the city hall on Wednesday, December 30.
He thanked them for their work, and praised their out-of-the-box thinking and creativity.
“The poet Evgeny Yevtushenko said about our city: ‘Penza has all history of Russia.’ Look how many people famous worldwide we have. I believe that the names of the children we see here will become as famous as the names of our great compatriots. I am pleased to see the young boys and girls already doing their best, not only to show their intellectual experience, but also to make our city famous,” Victor Kuvaytsev said.
He also addressed words of gratitude to teachers and parents of the talented school students, says the press service of the Penza city administration.
The mayor’s prize recipients were selected by the municipal committee that reviewed over 400 materials submitted by educational institutions.
They were selected in four nominations: “Scientific-Technical Works and Research Activities in Studies,” “Sports Achievements,” “Creativity in Arts,” and “Social and Civil Activity.”
The Penza city administration prizes are awarded since 2007. A total of 146 talented students received the prizes over the 9 years of the program.
