The overall funding of 3 billion 200 million rubles was allocated between the regions following the Russian Government decree signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Based on the notes to the document, the decision will help employ over 5,300 new doctors to work in villages, industrial communities and small towns, increasing availability of medical services.
Following the federal law No. 326, the one-time payouts of 1 million rubles will be allocated throughout 2016 to healthcare workers under 50 with higher education who move to a village, industrial community or small town, and sign an agreement with the relevant regional executive body.
The payouts are financed through interbudgetary transfers to the territorial compulsory medical insurance fund from the Federal Fund budget and from the regional budgets – in a mix of 60% and 40% of the sums, respectively.
