Penza, 7 January 2016. PenzaNews. The dilapidated private homes not far from the monument “Globus,” a long-time sour spot for the outlook of Suvorova street in Penza that had been hidden behind decorative banners for several years, were finally removed after bulldozers practically leveled the dangerous housing.

Currently, the demolition site has only one decorative banner, stylized after the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, left standing, while the second only has its metallic frame left.

The place where ramshackled buildings once stood is now covered with wooden beams and plans that may soon disappear as well.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the first attempt to improve the outlook of the dilapidated private houses located in the city’s central district was registered in January 2014, before the Olympic torch relay through Penza.

To improve the situation, the houses No. 239 and 241 on Suvorova streets were covered by free-laying banners depicting traditional wooden houses with windows.

Later on, the city officials hid the houses behind framed banners that changed depending on the notable event of the day.
