Penza, 8 January 2016. PenzaNews. The city snow-cleaning measures management became the main topic of the meeting held by the Penza city administration head Victor Kuvaytsev on Friday, January 8.

“Even though they promise moderate snowfall in the nearest future, we need to facilitate effective management of road and sidewalk snow-cleaning measures throughout the winter season,” the mayor pointed out.

He also asked to provide current information on whether the municipal enterprises responsible for city cleaning have enough materials and machinery supplied.

According to Andrei Shevchenko, director of “Penzadormost,” his enterprised procured additional shipments of anti-icing chemicals and reagents.

In addition, the city administration head received reports from “Penza City Communal Affairs Department,” “Green Property of Penza City,” and “Penzadormost,” saying the snow-cleaning machinery is fully ready for work.

Victor Kuvaytsev instructed the officials responsible to pay particular attention to yard cleaning.

“We need to work with heads of communal management companies, create motivations for them to clean snow well, and report to relevant licensing bodies to impose sanctions if any violations are spotted,” he stressed.

In addition, the mayor separately addressed the importance of timely snow cleaning measures for main highways and sidewalks of the city, as well as for the Privokzalnaya square adjacent to Penza-1 train station.

“The communal services must begin their work hours by cleaning this area, as the Privokzalnaya square is one of the main parts of our city that is visited by hundreds of citizens and visitors daily. We also need to pay particular attention to cleaning sidewalks, so that pedestrians were able to freely walk to kindergartens, schools, jobs in the morning,” Victor Kuvaytsev said.

In addition, the meeting was dedicated to the upkeep of hockey rinks, management of sports and cultural events during the New Year holidays, and identification of the owners of cars abandoned on the roadside that make it difficult to clean the streets, the press service of the Penza city administration informed PenzaNews agency.
