“We are working non-stop, working 24/7. […] 73 multipurpose road maintenance vehicles, the rest are snow-blowers, graders, already working to clean the roads,” he clarified.
According to Sergei Logunov, the federal highway traffic in the Penza region remained unblocked in spite of the blizzard.
“In case of an emergency, we will react in a timely fashion,” stressed the head of the federal highway management administration “Bolshaya Volga.”
The most frequently occurring issues during bad weather take place on the inclines when trucks with summer tires are stuck “polishing” the roads trying to drive uphill, he pointed out.
“There were no issues throughout today – no ‘polishers,’ the traffic continued, it did not stop,” Sergei Logunov said.
Also, the head of the federal highway management administration “Bolshaya Volga” added that his organization manages over 2,300 km of highways in six regions – the Ryazan, Penza, Ulyanovsk, Samara and Saratov regions, as well as Mordovia.
