“I would like to point out for you the things our citizens are saying over the past week. It is about the increase of prices on bread, milk, children’s foods, eggs, meat,” he said in his opening word to the videoconference meeting with heads of city areas and regional municipalities held on Monday, January 18.

As Ivan Belozertsev noted, “on the one hand, we are saying we have finished the year of 2015 with a success in agriculture, but on the other hand, people are worried by this vital problem.”

The governor instructed Andrei Burlakov, acting deputy chairman of the Penza region government, to analyze the situation in two days.

He also gave similar orders to heads of city areas and regional municipalities.

“There must be no unjustified increases of food prices. This is one of the priority task we must work on. […] If there are any violations, let’s work on it together with the antimonopoly committee,” Ivan Belozertsev stressed.
