Penza among top 20 popular tourist destinations in 2016

The city of Penza was placed in the top 20 list of popular tourist destinations in Russia in 2016, says the Travel.ru website rating based on data of hotel rooms booked on dates between January 11 and December 31. According to publissed data, the tourists usually book trips to Penza for an average of 2.5 days, and spend about 3,000 rubles for hotel rooms.

The list of top 10 big Russian cities most popular among tourists in 2016 includes St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, Ekaterinburg, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, and Saratov.
The top ten Russian resorts this year is comprised of Sochi, Yalta, Gelendzhik, Koktebel, Svetlogorsk, Yeisk, Pyatigorsk, Anapa, Tuapse, and Yevpatoria. According to the rating, Yeisk and Yevpatoria offer the cheapest stay at under 1,500 rubles per day, while Yalta and Sochi are the most expensive at over 5,000 rubles.
The 10 most booked foreign cities in the rating are Prague, Rome, Budapest, Amsterdam, Tallinn, Vienna, Munich, Paris, Barcelona and Vilnius.
The cheapest trips can be enjoyed in Tbilisi (1,700 rubles per day of stay), Vilnius (2,600 rubles), Budapest (2,900 rubles), Bratislava (3,100 rubles) and Tallinn (3,200 rubles), while the most expensive stay (at over 10,000 rubles) will be in London, New York, and Amsterdam.
The top ten popular foreign countries among self-travel tourists are Italy, Spain, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Estonia and Hungary.
Such tourists are ready to pay an average of 5,600 rubles per day of stay in Italy, and 5,000 rubles per day of stay in Spain.
