“It was found that on 15 October 2015, a group of students in the school No. 222 had a row in the art class room when the teacher was out: one of them ended up with a bruise of the lower lip. The school principal learned about it only from the mother of the injured student during a teacher-parent meeting,” Yulia Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the region in Media Relations, told PenzaNews agency.

In a different incident that occurred on November 17, a student of the gymnasium “Didact” received a concussion during a conflict, she added.

“He could not receive first aid in the nurse office, because the nurse was not present at the time of the incident. Next, in the same gymnasium, on November 21, two 5th class students had a fight: one of them received varying injuries, and his right thigh and his left temple were bruised,” she clarified.

Moreover, Yulia Makarova particularly stressed the fact that the aforementioned educational institutions had antisocial behavior prevention programs only for children in risk group and registered with the juvenile police department; however, neither of the students involved in those conflicts fell into the criteria.

“After the audit, the prosecutor of Zarechny made a submission to the head of the city’s Education Department to rectify the uncovered violations, along with subjecting all persons responsible to disciplinary action. All guilty parties received punishment,” she said.
