In particular, PenzaNews agency editor-in-chief Pavel Polosin and reporter Tatyana Kotina were presented with letters of gratitude.
“Your professional level and timely coverage help to objectively inform the citizens of the region about the oversight of the Penza region prosecutor’s office. We greatly value our cooperation with you, and are looking forward to continuing it in the future,” the letters say.
Describing the role of the media, Natalya Kantserova stressed that the media sources are the means for Penza region citizens to learn more about the work of the prosecutor’s office and the ways it can protect their rights.
“Your work is a large factor in increasing the level of public trust to prosecutors. This can be seen in the number of requests to the prosecutor’s office in the past year, and in the current one as well, as people usually see it as a last-resort way to protect their rights and legal interests,” she said.
Natalya Kantserova also expressed her gratitude to journalists for covering the most relevant issues that concern the public.
“I must definitely tell you today that the prosecutor’s office leaves no single newspiece in any single news source unread, even if it contains rather negative attitude to the prosecutor’s office,” she stressed.
