Penza, 25 January 2016. PenzaNews. Penza city will encounter a thaw period of nearly a week and a half that will replace the winter frost starting from Friday, January 29. The freezing weather that recently has settled in the Penza region will give way to a spell of relatively warm weather coming from the south, meteorologists say.

According to them, the temperature will reach 0...+2°C during the day and 0...-2°C at night until Saturday, February 6, with heavy wet snow or even rain, and iced roads in late or early hours which is normal for such weather.
Overall, the weather forecasters say the upcoming February will be sunny and devoid of freezing cold for Penza, giving some hope for the upcoming spring. However, spring will begin to settle in only in March, starting from the vernal equinox – the day when the sun will cross the equinoctial line and the day becomes longer than the night – which falls on March 20 this year.
