Crime prevention operation “Peshekhod” to take place on Penza region roads

Penza, 7 February 2016. PenzaNews. The traffic police officers will be holding a crime prevention operation “Peshekhod” on Monday, February 8.

Its main objective is to prevent traffic accidents, including through teaching drivers and pedestrians the proper etiquette at road crossings.
“During the operation, the traffic police will pay particular attention to preventing and stopping traffic laws violations by pedestrians,” the press service of the Penza region traffic police department informed PenzaNews agency.
They reminded that as of 1 July 2015, pedestrians crossing the roads and walking along the roads during the night hours or under poor visibility are recommended (required when outside cities, towns and villages) to have light-reflective items on clothing.
“Following Part 1, Art. 12.29 of the Administrative Code, ‘Violation of Traffic Laws By a Pedestrian or Other Actor of Traffic,’ violators will be facing administrative fine of 500 rubles,” the press service said.
