The improvement process of the Sura river embankment in Penza is scheduled to begin in spring of 2016, announced the vice-mayor Irina Shirshina during the meeting of the task force on reconstruction project implementation, which took place on Wednesday, February 10.

According to her, as most of the landplots in the affected area are private property, the first stage of the embankment reconstruction process will feature a series of urban improvement measures.

During the discussion, the task force highlighted the importance of organizing skilled and thoughtful parking space and developing entertainment infrastructure that would attract people of all ages. In particular, they pointed out the need to set up several zones of recreation and children’s playgrounds along with food courts and cafes.

In addition, the task force members concluded that the area must be active all year instead of just the summer period.

In conclusion, the experts agreed to study examples of other regions where land plots in the embankment area were provided for construction on concession agreements, says the press service of the Penza administration.
