Penza, 12 February 2016. PenzaNews. The 2015 industrial production index in the Penza region has reached 106.3% compared to 2014, placing the region second in the Volga Federal District and 11th in Russia, the website of the Penza region Economy Ministry quotes information by Rosstat.

At the same time, the Penza region took the first place in the Volga Federal District in agricultural production index, which reached 113.6% compared to the previous year; and 9th place in the VFD and 28th in Russia in housing construction volumes.

The cost of the fixed consumer goods basket in the Penza region was calculated at 11,945.3 rubles in 2015, which is 11% below the average level in Russia, placing it 7th in the VFD and 19th in the country.

The cost of the minimum grocery basket in the Penza region remains one of the lowest in Russia – 2,990.3 rubles by the end of December. The Penza region holds the second place in the VFD and the third in Russia in this category.

The registered unemployment level in the Penza region reached 0.8% by late December, compared to the average of 1.3% in Russia and 1.1% in the Volga Federal District.
