During the regional government meeting session that took place on Monday, February 15, the city head Valery Savelyev announced that the current year’s budget has 39 million rubles allocated on roads, with a possible bonus of 19 million rubles and the money from the regional budget.

“We [the region] give you 100 million rubles, we are helping the city. But that is not enough. If we do not have it in the budget, we need to take loans. People will not stand with us like that. Roads must be repaired,” Ivan Belozertsev noted.

He pointed out that the Penza region “learned to pave roads, if they do keep away from embezzling.”

“Penza needs half a million rubles allocated on roads every year. Then we will be able to put them into shape. And still that would not be enough,” the governor said.

The head of the region highlighted the fact that he asks to set up a working system, rather than repairing only the most visible road sections.

“What I am asking for is not to sweep the asphalt by my house, but spruce up everything in general,” Ivan Belozertsev stressed.
