The Penza city will introduce a series of measures to eradicate illegal parking, starting from the upcoming week, announced Alexei Ryabov, head of the Economic Development Department of the city hall, during the 19th regular meeting session of the City Duma on Friday, February 26.

According to him, this process will increase the popularity of toll parking lots, such as the multi-level parking building on Kuraeva street, which so far gained little popularity among the drivers since its opening in early February 2016.

“As for the city [authority], these will feature restrictive signs and fines for disobedience. In regards to the business [that will be providing the parking zones], they must create comfortable conditions and increase quality of their service,” Alexei Ryabov clarified.

The parking situation will be controlled not only by the traffic police, but also by the state organization “Safe Region,” he explained.

“They will be gathering evidence of the violations using photo and video equipment, and seek to hold people responsible for the violations,” said the head of the Economic Development Department.

In order to do that, according to Alexei Ryabov, the staff of “Safe Region” will be using dedicated cars, and there are currently no more than two such vehicles in the Penza region.
