Penza to use municipal parking revenues to refill road fund

Penza, 26 February 2016. PenzaNews. The revenues from municipal parking zones in Penza will be used to refill the city road fund, following the decision made by the City Duma deputies during the 19th regular meeting session on Friday, February 26.

“Since parking zones went operational in the Penza region, revenues from them are one of the income sources for the road fund. Therefore, we propose the add a new entry to the regulation ‘On Road Fund’ saying that the revenue from paid parking zones located on local roads and on the yard road network is a source of income for the road fund,” explained Olga Zavyalkina, head of the Penza Finances Department.
Currently, the road fund has been set at 204 million rubles, which includes the money allocated by the regional budget, she added.
“110 million rubles comes from the Penza region, 45 million rubles was allocated from the original budget, 19,800,000 rubles will be used for road repairs according to the decisions of the February session, and 30 million rubles is allocated in the money traded for city cleaning – the current work of ‘Penzadormost’,” Olga Zavyalkina clarified.
According to the head of the Finances Department, the Penza city administration will be approaching the March session with a proposal to increase the road repairs funding, which is expected to reach approximately 250 million rubles.
