Until March 30, the transport police will hold a series of measures to prevent and counter teenage delinquency and breaches of law that may result in damages to trains or injuries.
The campaign is scheduled to coincide with the beginning of the spring break, as school students end up with more free time on their hands than usual, and often they end up spending it in a potentially harmful way.
“More often than not, the acts of teenage delinquency we encounter are related to putting various objects on railroad tracks, throwing stones at passing trains, and dismantling metal parts for scrap,” Police Captain Alexander Linyaev, head of the teenage delinquency office for the Penza region transport police department, told PenzaNews.
There are many railroad objects located close to apartment buildings and houses in the region, he stressed.
“The main objective of the campaign is to protect our children from ill-judged mistakes and most importantly keep them safe. Our work will be even more fruitful if parents will teach their children how to behave at such dangerous locations by their example,” the police officer explained.
