Penza region respiratory viral infections rate increases by nearly 40% over single week

Penza, 21 March 2016. PenzaNews. The incidence rate of respiratory viral infections in the Penza region has increased by 37.8% over the past week, yet remained significantly below the dangerous threshold, says the message published by the regional Rospotrebnadzor department on Monday, March 21.

According to it, the highest incidence rate was registered in the Neverkino area, Kuznetsk, and the Nizhny Lomov, Kameshkir, Lopatino and Nikolsk areas.

The highest incidence rate is currently among children aged under 2 and 3-6.

Also, the epidemic season the Penza region so far has been marked by 318 lab-confirmed cases of flu, including 81 cases of A/H1N1 and 5 cases of A/H3N2.
