The event organizers would be happy to see fiction and non-fiction books in good condition, and ask the participants to refrain from bringing in narrowly specialized books, manuals, guides, religious or esoteric books, monographs, paperback whodunits, erotic novels or thrillers.
The very first Book Exchange event that had taken place on February 14 involved around 15 participants who brought in close to 40 books, Maria Lvova-Belova, chairman of the Penza civil organization “Blagovest,” director of “Kvartal Louie,” told PenzaNews.
“The Book Exchange organizer is hearing-impaired Olesya Tarashkevich. She lost her hearing when she was 19; however, she is a very talented and well-read person. The event was her idea, and she is organizing it for the second time in a row,” she added.
