Zarechny, 28 March 2016. PenzaNews. The population of Zarechny in the Penza region on 1 January 2016 has reached 64,887 people.

This is 390 people more than a year ago, says the website of the closed administrative-territorial unit administration.

Thus, the population increased by 0.6% over the past year, and by 1.4% over the past 5 years.

The birth rate in Zarechny is higher than in the Penza region, but lower than in Russia overall.

The statistics service point out a growing trend in numbers of mothers above 24 bearing second and third children.

The lethality rate for the working-age population has decreased significantly, as well as the relative infant death rate – three times less than the regional average, and five times under the Russian average.

Although there were more weddings than divorces, the relative divorce rate remains high.
