The opening ceremony on Saturday, April 16, was dedicated to the 50 years of the amusement ride itself and the 195 years of the Central Park.
On that day, visitors of the park were able to sample a cup of chicory, coffee or hot chocolate, or take part in a showcase sale of school stationery supplies and national crafts.
The official part of the opening began with a performance of “Family Carriage” by the children’s musical school No. 1 vocal band “Domisolka.”
Following that, the authorities and the Belinsky Park management expressed their gratitude to the activists that helped solve a number of managerial issues and find the funds to renovate the amusement ride, which were provided by around 20 organizations.
“It is very important for us to see that Penza has many active and kind people ready to do everything to make the city more comfortable: in this case, for recreation and children’s entertainment. From myself and the citizens, I want to express enormous gratitude to these active and responsible citizens,” said the city mayor Victor Kuvaytsev.
Just like in 2015, citizen’s initiatives will be supported through the city contest of socially vital projects.
“May there be more such good deeds in our city,” the press service of the city hall quotes Victor Kuvaytsev.
