The police dispatch summoned at the location took the human remains for investigation.
The director of the veterans home Lyudmila Artemova proposed that the human bones spent several decades in the ground before being unearthed.
“There wasn’t a cemetery here, because the river is nearby. This seems to be a standalone burial ground. Perhaps the bones are here from the times of the landowner Ustinov [Adrian Mikhaylovich Ustinov, who had been a landowner in Bekovo for 53 years – from 1830 to 1883]. The veteran home is located on the former landowner’s estate grounds. One may conclude that this is one of his servants who was buried here,” the “Penzenskaya Pravda” newspaper quotes Lyudmila Artemova.
