Around 800 police officers to protect public peace on May 9 in Penza

Penza, 4 May 2016. PenzaNews. Around 800 police officers will be protecting the public peace during the Victory Day celebrations in Penza, announced the deputy head of the Penza city police Andrei Gavryushin.

“The festivities will be held at 14 locations. Around 800 police officers will be protecting the public order. We expect around 60,000 people to participate and spectate at the festivities,” he said during the press conference held on Wednesday, May 4.

All locations chosen for the festivities will be inspected beforehand by canine units to detect any possible explosive devices, Andrei Gavryushin added.

“All participants and spectators will be inspected thoroughly, and will not be allowed to enter the locations without being inspected. Also, we will steer away people under alcohol or drug influence,” Andrei Gavryushin clarified.

According to him, the police personnel has been prepared to protect public peace at the festivities.
