Valery Lidin, chairman of the Penza region Legislative Assembly, secretary of the regional United Russia party branch, has congratulated the citizens of the region with the 71st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (the Eastern Front of the Second World War).

“May 9 is a special day for each of us. This is the day of our common glory, our national triumph. The war has left its irremovable mark in the history of our country, and in our hearts. There is hardly a family in the former Soviet Union, in Russia and the Penza region that did not lose a single man in the years of war. And the pain of those losses remains even now,” noted the speaker of the regional parliament.

The citizens of Russia will forever treasure and cherish the legacy of the soldiers who brought on the Victory, he added.

“I deeply bow to veterans of war and workers of the homefront, to all who earned the Great Victory over fascism through all hardships, with their strength and lives on stake. My dear compatriots, I wish you sound health, happiness, prosperity and peaceful skies!” Valery Lidin said.
