People young and elderly are tending to the graves of their relatives today, cleaning, washing and painting the pedestals after the winter, and planting flowers.
The street vendors by the cemeteries are quickly selling flowers today.
As PenzaNews reported earlier, this day was first announced as a regional non-working day a year ago. The decree that announces All Souls Day to be work-free in the Penza region was approved on 10 April 2015 during the 25th session of the regional Legislative Assembly.
The date of the holiday is non-fixed: in 2015, it fell on April 21.
All Souls Day will be commemorated on April 25 in 2017, April 17 in 2018, May 7 in 2019, and April 28 in 2020.
