Penza, 13 May 2016. PenzaNews. The citizens and guests of Penza are invited to sing the famous song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin during the first day of the Jazz May musical festival on Friday, May 20.

In a YouTube video, a Nizhny Novgorod singer Anna Lukshina explains the parts to learn for the people who seek to participate in the singing.

“Penza was always famous for its rich vocal and choir traditions. The Russian choir conductor and composer Alexander Arkhangelsky; the renown educator, musician and choir master Fedor Vazersky, who helped create the opera theaters in Samara, Alma-Ata, Saratov and Penza; the composer and choir master Oktyabr Grishin; the artistic creator and head conductor of the local gubernatorial symphonic chapel Vladimir Kashirsky – all those names were included in the history of the musical culture in the Sura land,” says the message published in the Jazz Facebook official Facebook group.

It also adds that the upcoming group singing will serve as a training rehearsal for the people who are also looking to participate in Slavonic Literature Day.

According to information available to PenzaNews, the crowd choir that will sing “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” will also feature renown personalities of the Penza region, including those who gained popularity for taking part in similar charity performances.
