60% Penza citizens want rest rather than work on May 1-10
Penza, 15 May 2016. PenzaNews. Over 60% of Penza region citizens think that the May 1-10 must be a solid block of holidays, just like in the beginning of January, according to the PenzaNews website poll held on 30 April – 14 May 2014, which received votes from 462 users (including 233 from Penza and the region).

More than 53% of the vote fully agreed with the holiday idea, and additional 10% leaned towards agreeing on having a solid block of holidays on May 1-10 without any work days.
At the same time, around 20% strongly disagreed with the idea, and even less – 15% – chose the “More likely disagree” option.
Moreover, just over 1% of the poll struggled to reply.
In 2016, Russians had holidays on January 1-10. In addition, as per the official calender, May 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 9 were declared work-free days, while May 4, 5 and 6 were work days.
Also, the Penza region declared May 10 – All Souls Day – to be a local work-free day, as per the decision of the regional Legislative Assembly in 2015.
The date of All Souls Day holiday is non-fixed. It was commemorated on April 21 in 2015. Moreover, it will fall on April 25 in 2017, April 17 in 2018, May 7 in 2019, and April 28 in 2020.
