Penza, 16 May 2016. PenzaNews. Penza city will receive a subsidy of 50 million rubles for local road repairs through an increase of budget assignments from the Penza region road fund, in accordance with the regional budget amendments bill draft introduced in the regional Legislative Assembly.

The Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev personally made the decision to allocate additional funding for road repairs due to an expected increase of inflow of funds to the road fund, the press service of the regional government informed PenzaNews.

Reportedly, the measures will also include development of a Penza city highway repair roadmap.

The roadmap will outline the start dates and deadlines, subcontractors, names of persons responsible for road progress and quality supervision, and dates of later audits.

“Reconstruction of roads is related not just to comfort of drivers and their passengers, but also to traffic safety. We pay particular attention to solving this issue through finding additional funding to repair Penza highways,” Ivan Belozertsev commented.

Roads must be subjected to capital repairs at least once every five years to remain in proper condition, he pointed out.

“This is related to both the city and the regional municipalities,” stressed the head of the region.
