Penza, 24 May 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza city administration head Victor Kuvaytsev has congratulated the citizens with Slavonic Literature and Culture Day celebrated on Tuesday, May 24.

“Culture and literature are the foundation of any civilization; without them, no society can establish and develop itself. Thanks to Cyril and Methodius, founders of the Slavonic literature, the ideas of good and justice, the experience of the centuries past, the history of the humankind and scientific knowledge are kept preserved in our country for generations,” the mayor said.

These preserved values must be kept, Victor Kuvaytsev stressed.

“Our objective is to help form respect to our cultural heritage in our children, teach them to become all-rounded, literate young men and women, true patriots of their Fatherland,” the city administration head noted.

He also expressed the belief that the celebratory day will help further the cultural resurrection of the society and better spread of moral values.

“I wish all Penza citizens to stay healthy in both body and mind, to live in peace, agreement and prosperity!” the press service of the city administration quotes Victor Kuvaytsev.
