Penza, 31 May 2016. PenzaNews. The Belinsky Penza central park will hold an eco-educational campaign dedicated to World Environment Day on Sunday, June 5.

During the campaign, the park officials plan to clean the territory and the Health Track from trash, as well as rake the park woods.

“The organizers prepared a cultural program of Penza performers, singers, ensembles and poets for the campaign participants. The most prominent volunteers will receive awards for their activities over the past 6 months during small ceremonies between performances,” Igor Pantyushov, chairman for the Penza region branch of the Russian Geographical Society, told PenzaNews.

Among other things, the campaign seeks to raise awareness about the environmental issues in the region among the youth and the general public.

“Protecting the nature is the main objective of the Russian Geographical Society. It finds support from all progressive powers, and attracts more and more supporters each time,” he said.

According to Igor Pantyushov, the cleaning will begin with an assembly at 11.00, and followed by the official event at 13.00.
