Penza, 31 May 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza culture and leisure center hosted the charity concert for the construction of the Spassky cathedral “Restore the Cathedral With All World!” in the evening of Monday, May 30.

Before the concert, any visitor was able to donate some money into the charity box to help the finishing construction works. Among those who donated were the Penza city mayor Victor Kuvaytsev and his first assistant Vladimir Volkov.

In his address to the audience, Victor Kuvaytsev pointed out that the Spassky cathedral is beginning to regain its stately appearance.

“We only need to work on returning its interior to its former beauty. Of course, not everyone is able to donate big money for the construction, but any concerned person is able to make their contribution for the good deed,” said the Penza city administration head.

Many Penza citizens were happy to contribute to the cathedral construction, Victor Kuvaytsev added.

“All because each of us has their own place where you are welcome, where you can feel cozy, warm and happy. There are many places like that, and the cathedral is one of them,” the mayor stressed.

The charity concert began with a performance of the Uspensky cathedral choir.

It was followed by winners and laureates of Russian and international musical competitions, says the press service of the Penza city hall.
