Penza State University opens Ivan Egorov memorial plaque

Penza, 3 June 2016. PenzaNews. A memorial plaque to distinguished scientist Ivan Egorov has been unveiled at the building No. 11 of the Belinsky Pedagogical Institute of the Penza State University – the building where the prominent researcher had worked for over four decades.

The June 2 official assembly dedicated to the unveiling ceremony on Thursday began with a speech by Vladimir Volchikhin, Doctor of Technial Sciences PSU president and professor.
“Keeping the legacy of university’s renown scientists via memorial plaques on the buildings where they had worked became a good tradition for us. This also furthers the education process by reminding the students of the precursors of education process. I think that the decision made by the university and institute councils was a right and worthy step,” he stressed.
During the ceremony, Alexei Kazakhov, head of the General Physics and Physic Education department; Ivan Shuvalov, Journalism Science professor, Belinsky Pedagogical Institute lorekeeper; and studehts of Ivan Egorov shared their memories of the scientist.
After the end of the assembly, people laid flowers to the memorial plaque, says the PSU press service.
