Vice-mayor: Increasing pothole repair amounts may ruin Penza roads

Penza, 8 June 2016. PenzaNews. Further increasing the amount of pothole repairs in Penza may ruin the roads as a result, said the vice-mayor Yuri Ilyin during the session of the permanent City Duma committee on communal service, urban improvement and environment on Wednesday, June 8.

“We must conduct capital road repairs,” he stressed.
According to the vice-mayor, the road repairs in Penza are closely monitored both by personal visits and sensors.
In turn, Andrei Grishin, head of the Penza city Communal Services Department, announced that the plans for 2016 feature repairs of 21 road locations, for a total space of 242,616 sq. meters.
According to the announced information, the city budget allocated 50 million rubles for pothole road repairs, including 30 million rubles under the municipal road maintenance contract with “Penzadormost,” which covers pothole repairs at 27 bridges and 101 streets for a total space of 41,800 sq. meters.
Additionally, the municipality held 11 procurement auctions for asphalt repairs at 23,823.4 sq. meters outside of the scope of the “Penzadormost” contract, for a total cost of 19,719,000 rubles, says the press service of the Penza city hall.
