The Pachelma area prosecutor already issued a statement to refer the case materials to the local Ministry of the Interior department for opening a criminal case under Part 2, Art. 122 of the Criminal Code, “Infecting With AIDS,” Svetlana Artamonova, senior assistant of the head of the regional prosecutor for media relations, told PenzaNews.
“The man in question spent a prison sentence in a penal colony, and got out. He engaged in sexual relations with the woman, and she got pregnant. Afterwards, she was diagnosed with AIDS,” she explained.
According to her, the man acted like he had not been informed of the infection.
“When people get diagnosed with such illnesses, they are informed with written acknowledgment that they may face criminal cases if they engage in unprotected sexual relations. He was warned about them, he could not have been uninformed,” Svetlana Artamonova said.
The investigation of the case is currently underway, she noted.
