Penza, 22 June 2016. PenzaNews. The funeral visitation of the former Penza region governor, member of the Russian Federation Council Vasily Bochkarev, who passed away at the age of 67 on Wednesday, June 22, will be held at “Penza” cinema and concert hall at 10.00-13.00 of Friday, June 24.

The former head of the region will be buried in the Novo-Zapadnoye cemetery, the press service of the Penza region government informed PenzaNews.

Many officials, such as the Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev, regional Legislative Assembly chairman Valery Lidin, chief federal expert Dmitry Kadenkov and others, expressed their condolences to the relatives of the deceased.

“The news are painful for any citizen of the Penza region, and for many people outside – in Russia and abroad. Vasily Bochkarev dedicated his whole life to his native land, put his soul into its establishment and prosperity. His management allowed the Penza region to develop under the difficult economic situation, begin recovering and improving agriculture, actively construct new housing, sports and cultural facilities, kindergartens and schools,” says the obituary.

According to it, Vasily Bochkarev was a strong, bright and talented person, a wise leader and true patriot of his state, who encouraged his supporters to help and follow him to do the best for the good of the Penza region citizens.
