Some of the people are standing outside, including a number of former and current high-ranking officials, such as Vladimir Volkov, Vladimir Yedalov, Alexander Voronkov and Roman Chernov.

Many people are carrying funeral wreaths and flowers – both large bouquets and humble singlets.

People of different ages – mostly ex-governor’s former colleagues of the same age, even though some are young – are attending the ceremony to give final respects to Vasily Bochkarev, who had been heading the region for 17 years.

The visitors of the cinema and concert hall are met at the entrance by visitation organizers asissted by EMERCOM experts, who lead them to the hall on the second floor.

After reaching the location, people are forming a queue to get up to the stage and approach the coffin with Vasily Bochkarev’s body.

The close friends and relatives of the deceased – less than 15 people – are sitting to the left of the coffin. At the same time, the body is guarded by military cadets and watched by people with funeral handbands standing in the back of the stage.

The Penza citizens are approaching the coffin from the left, leaving flowers on the tables along the edge of the stage, passing behind the coffin and leave stage on the right to either take the seats or leave the cinema and concert hall entirely.

At the moment, a number of high-ranking officials, including the Penza mayor Victor Kuvaytsev, the city head Valery Savelyev, the senator Victor Kondrashkin, the State Duma deputy Sergei Yesyakov and others, already stood by the coffin, expressed their condolences to the ex-governor’s relatives in person, and stood in the funeral watch on the background.

At the moment, the funeral visitation hall is almost a third full. The process is accompanied by sad music, and many people are not holding their tears.

Reportedly, the burial service will begin at 12.30, while the civil funeral service will finish at 13.00.
