During the field tests, experts will be evaluating the technical capabilities of the new model in comparison with the previous TEM18 model, which also had undergone testing in Penza, the press secretary of the Penza branch of the Kuybyshevskaya Railroad Svetlana Zatuliveter informed PenzaNews.
“In particular, they will test the effectiveness of the diesel generator, oil and fuel consumption levels, and overall technical reliability in universal conditions. Moreover, train experts will be evaluating the new and more comfortable front cabin with full-round view and air conditioning,” she explained.
The tests will take 4 months, she added.
“Over this period of time, the experts will analyze parameters and results, and prepare their conclusion for the manufacturer. Moreover, two train operators-instructors will undergo education courses at the production facility to teach their colleagues. The full range of tests will come to an end this October,” Svetlana Zatulivteter pointed out.
