Penza, 30 June 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza authorities began demolition of the dilapidated buildings on Naberezhnaya Reki Sury street on Wednesday, June 29.

The five buildings in question are to be fully demolished by September 1, the press service of the city administration informed PenzaNews.

“There are a total of 105 buildings due for demolition in Penza. 18 are already demolished, while 48 are in process. The rest are being rehoused, and are due for demolition this year,” the city hall explained.

In mid-June, the Penza city mayor Victor Kuvaytsev instructed to accelerate the demolition of the rehoused dilapidated buildings on Naberezhnaya Reki Sury street. He visited the location personally after receiving a request from a local woman, who expressed her distress over the fact that the buildings in question began to get frequented by vagabonds.

The city administration head announced that he will be personally monitoring the issue.
