Governor presented with robot at opening of “TeenGrad” summer school in Penza

Penza, 11 July 2016. PenzaNews. A robot created in one of the Penza youth innovative creativity centers was presented to the governor Ivan Belozertsev during the opening ceremony of the “TeenGrad” summer school, which started its work on the basis of the Olympic reserve school, July 11.

Before the beginning of the official part, the region head together with other honored guests visited the exhibition of the equipment that is currently used by young innovators.

Then, the guests moved to the hall where the official ceremony was held. 

“Today we understand that we need young people, we need new ideas, new approaches, and innovations are born in our minds, and it is great. I thank you for choosing this kind of activity,” Ivan Belozertsev said to the youth.

In turn, summer school participants thanked the governor for the support of the technical creative work and presented him with a robot.

“All the gifts that officials of different ranks get should be declared, we should send information to the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, and after we get [confirmation] that it is all legalized, we can place it in the governor’s museum. But this gift will stand today in the Penza region governor’s museum, which was opened at the gubernatorial house last year,” the head of the region said.

Ivan Belozertsev emphasized that the support will continue to be provided to the youth striving to master technology.

“As difficult as it is to find finances, […] 2.5 million rubles were allocated to robotics,” he marked.

Then, together with Andrey Krivonosov, the youngest participant of the project, Ivan Belozertsev pressed the symbolic lever to give start to the “TeenGrad” summer school.
