The fact was made public by the entrepreneur Anton Kupryushin who posted a message under the heading “Crosswalk leading nowhere” in LiveJournal and uploaded a two-minute video.
He calls attention of his subscribers to budget funds that were allocated to build one of the crosswalks with appropriate road marking, lampposts and a pedestrian crossing sign.
However, the author of the video asked where peoplecrossing the road in this place get.
“Nowhere at all – there is a steep; really there is no path or anything. There is neither a roadside here. So it is absolutely unclear where this crosswalk leads. It is leading nowhere,” Anton Kupryushin said.
According to him, “nobody needs this crosswalk, nobody uses it,” although budget funds were spent to build it.
The news agency PenzaNews has yet no information on what organization was engaged in the crosswalk furnishing and whether the work was checked by controlling bodies.
