Penza, 22 July 2016. PenzaNews. Roads in different areas of Penza were flooded as a result of downpour, which hit the city on the night of Friday, July 22.

For instance, on Stroiteley prospect, not far from the entertainment center “Izumrudny gorod” [Emerald city], road-users watched the scene, which had become typical of heavy rain: cars driving from Lozitskoy street and turning on it have to move along the road completely under water.

Along with that, some vehicles getting in the flow of water died out in a while, thus creating additional obstructions for other cars.

In view of the traffic situation, trolley-buses even stopped moving.

The same situation was in other parts of the city, for example, in Yuzhnaya Polyana near Kalinina street, as well as in Shuist.

Experienced drivers tried to avoid road with hollows, but it did not always help.

For instance, water accumulated on Popova street, too. Cars, despite some inconveniences, could go through, whereas it was problematic for pedestrians to walk along the sidewalk – they risked to be covered by “waves” from cars.
