3 tons of sanction-covered vegetables and fruits to be destroyed in Penza
Penza, 24 July 2016. PenzaNews. Over 3 tons of apples, pears and cherry tomatoes from Poland, which were illegally sold on the territory of the wholesale market “OptTorg Severny” in Penza, are planned to be destroyed. The press service of the Volga transport prosecutor’s office informed PenzaNews about it.

The press service said that the Penza transport prosecutor’s office received information from a local resident, who informed the supervisory body of a possible violation.
“The Penza transport prosecutor’s office immediately organized inspections of observance of the legislation on issues regarding import of goods restricted pursuant to the special economic measures act and regarding consumer rights protection in cooperation with experts of Rosselkhoznadzor administration and the Saratov customs office. The information from the local resident was confirmed,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The press service added that the illegal products were removed from circulation.
“The situation stays in control of the Penza transport prosecutor’s office,” the office said.
