Penza, 4 August 2016. PenzaNews. A total of 65.8% of all tobacco sales in the Penza region are related to violations, the press service of the regional Rospotrebnadzor department informed PenzaNews.

“During the first half of 2016, tobacco sales supervisory bodies inspected 70 business entities at 79 sales locations,” they clarified.

According to the press service, violating the current tobacco sales regulations is a severe breach of the federal law.

“In particular, it is prohibitied to sell tobacco less than 100 meters away from educational institutions. However, our experts discovered evidence of selling tobacco near kindergartens, schools and other educational institutions at four sales points,” Rospotrebnadzor added.

The most numerous violations were discovered in violations of the no smoking law (27 cases) and the lack of “no smoking” signs (13 cases), the press service noted.

“Overall, we initiated 59 administrative cases with fines for a total of 209,700 rubles since the beginning of 2016, including 65,000 rubles on legal entities and 117,500 on individuals responsible,” they concluded.
