Penza citizens honor victims of Hiroshima nuclear strike

Penza, 7 August 2016. PenzaNews. Penza citizens held a public memorial campaign in the city on Saturday, August 6, Hiroshima Nuclear Bombardment Memorial Day.

The assembly at the Yubileynaya square was preceded by a car rally, which began at “Diesel-Arena,” and led through Okruzhnaya and Karpinskovo streets to the square located next to “Penza” cinema and concert hall.
All drivers received instructions before the rally.
During the event, the lightening at the Yubileyana square was turned off, and the alarm was sounded.
After the alarm, drivers switched on their car lights to symbolize the nuclear flash.
Following that, the rally members released white balloons to the accompaniment of car horns.
All who participated in the event received white paper cranes – symbols of the memorial event.
