Earlier none of Penza news agencies ever rose in the ranking above the place PenzaNews occupied as of Friday, August 19.
“Despite the fact that our result is quite modest in comparison with the federal media — we take only 99th place in the section “News Agencies” among other 400 websites — we sincerely believe it is a great achievement and we are proud to be the first among all other news agencies of Penza to be able to “break into the hundred,” PenzaNews editor in chief Pavel Polosin commented.
He also stressed that the current result is an achievement not only of the team that is working on the creation of a news product today, but also of all those people who proactively and energetically worked in PenzaNews in the most different periods of time.
Over the past few years, PenzaNews firmly holds the lead in the news segment, remains the most quoted media in the Penza region according to Yandex.
Currently, PenzaNews citation index is 2500 points — the same was in the beginning of June, when the previous update.
The network edition Penza-Press in the media holding “Express”, it is less than 400 points (119 th place in the catalog).
Citation index of PenzaInform, which is not officially registered and is associated with TRC “Nash Dom,” is 2100 points (127 th place in the catalog).
According to a number of experts of professional media community, since 2011, the above mentioned sites actually constitute “the big three” in the Penza region, which is unlikely to change in the near future.
Every day they produce information that forms not only major news trends in the region, but also inspires confidence among journalists of federal and foreign media, as evidenced by the high citation indices of the portals.
Thematic Citation Index (TIC) is a technology employed by Yandex to determine the credibility of Internet resources in a quantitative output, based on the quality of links from other websites rather than quality.
TIC is calculated using a proprietary algorithm that takes into account thematic content of the resource and the linking sites.
