Сonstruction of greenhouse nearing completion in Penza Botanical Garden

Penza, 24 August 2016. PenzaNews. Greenhouse construction at the Sprygina Botanical Garden of Penza State University is nearing completion.

The project was implemented with funding from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The money is sent directly to the construction of the greenhouse, the organization of auto-irrigation system, landscaping.
“Penza Botanical Garden is one of the oldest in the country. It traces back to 1917, and in 2017 it celebrates a 100-year anniversary,” the director of the Sprygina Botanical Garden Marina Rostovtseva noted.
She said that so far the main work is finished the installation of structures and greenhouse equipment.
“The remaining work includes bringing soil and connect the greenhouse to the heating system. It is planned to be equipped with autonomous gas boiler. In addition, the botanical garden has got automatic irrigation system installed on the main collection of the garden,” the head of the botanical garden added.
According to her, the collection formation has begun — it is planned to cultivate tropical and subtropical plants.
“If you have unwanted or overgrown houseplants, bring them to us in a botanical garden. Contributed to the formation and development of the only city scientific collection of tropical and subtropical flora,” PSU's press service quoted Marina Rostovtsev.
