Penza, 24 August 2016. PenzaNews. More than 17 thousand passengers used the services of Penza airport to travel to the south from May 27 to August 23, 2016, which is 25.6% more than in the same period last year.

Since the beginning of the holiday season over 17,270 passengers flew from Penza to Sochi, Anapa and Simferopol, while a year ago there were only 13,752 travellers.

The number of flights from the airport increased from five to seven a week. Additional flights to Simferopol and Sochi were introduced, Anapa flight still goes once a week.

The flights are operated by two airlines OJSC “Saratov airlines” and JSC “Izhavia” on aircrafts Yak-42 and Embraer-190.

Air travel in the southern direction will be carried out from Penza airport until September 30, the press service of the Ministry of Industry, Transport, Innovation Policy and Information of the region informs.
