Penza, 25 August 2016. PenzaNews. Territory refreshment model within the project “Our Yard” implemented in Penza on the initiative of Vyacheslav Volodin and with the support of the regional government, will be extended to the entire region.

Currently, selection of sites is underway in all 27 districts of the Penza region. In addition, in Zarechny and Kuznetsk they will equip up to 70 yards.

Penza already has 100 allocated areas which are included in “Our Yard” project. Here the refreshment work in squares and installation of playground elements for children is ongoing.

So, on Wednesday evening, August 24, there was a grand opening of a sports-and-play ground near house No. 174 on Ternovskogo Street. The participants of the event were the residents of nearby houses.

Congratulating those present on the end of the work on the improvement of local area, the mayor Valery Savelyev said that the creation of comfortable living and recreation conditions for Penza residents is a priority for the authorities.

“The MPs and the head of administration [Victor Kuvaytsev] try to make the city better. [...] Much is being done at the expense of co-financing from the federal budget, and the ratio is 70 to 30. It is very important,” he stressed.

Valery Savelyev expressed gratitude to the local people who are actively involved in the public life of Penza, and those maintaining order of yard territories.

He awarded diplomas to the deputy director of children's art school “Vesna” Inna Bakhmet'eva and English teacher of school No. 69 Anna Semina for many years of hard work and great contribution to the education of the younger generation.

The deputy head of administration of Pervomaysky district of Penza Anna Krasnova also greeted people on the opening of children's playground, and wished the families gathered peace, happiness and prosperity. She handed letters of gratitude to several residents for contribution to the social life of the neighborhood.

At the end of the event there was a concert with the participation of young artists, and the guests of the event were treated to free ice cream and lemonade.

As PenzaNewsreported earlier, the implementation of “Our Yard” program was launched in Penza in the summer 2016. They selected 100 territories in different parts of the city. Here the city government will pave the walkways, lay curbs, organize parking lots, as well as equip sports and children's playgrounds.

Several factors were evaluated when considering applications. Among them is the volume of residents' contribution to the improvement of the territory, the level of maintenance, respect for the elements of improvement, participation of the house residents in the city public life.

At present, in Oktyabrsky district of Penza they completed work on asphalting intradomestic territories adjacent to apartment houses No. 1 and No. 3 on Odesskaya Street. Work on the installation of curbs near house No. 2 on Lyadova Street and asphalting of entry to the territory of gymnasium No. 42 on Minskaya Street is underway.
